GO WILD!
Eating Real Foods for a Healthy Life
All of my life I've struggled with my weight. I've tried many different diets, personal trainers, health coaches, you name it. My weight would go down and then it would eventually go back up again, and then I would try something else. I've been as high as 235 lb and as low as 153 lb (going back to when I graduated college). At one point I was eating healthy (or thought I was) and was going to the gym 5 days a week. And even after doing that, I still had those annoying love handles around my waist which I could never seem to get rid of. I could never, ever get a flat stomach, and I pretty much gave up on it and settled for a 34" waistline.

When COVID hit in March 2020, I couldn't go to the gym anymore. I was about 185 lbs in March, and the weight started creeping back on until finally in August 2020 I was over 200 lbs again. I was determined to not only try something else, but try to figure out why I just have so much trouble keeping the weight off. And then I read this book and it changed my life:

I learned so much about food in this book. The most eye-opening part about reading this book is that foods that I thought were healthy for me and I was eating really were not healthy at all. The book theorizes why America has so many health problems, including things like obesity and onset diabetes. It teaches you the difference between processed vs. unprocessed foods, healthy vs. unhealthy animals and the foods they create, organic vs non-organic produce, and how to look at ingredients and determine if food that comes in a box, jar, or can is really healthy or not. Finally, this was a possible explanation for why I have been unable to lose weight and those undesirable love handles.

So I tried it. In August 2020 I was just over 200 lbs (I'm 5'11", if you are wondering). As of April 2021, I am down to 163 lbs! I'm even thinner now than I was in my 20s and when I got married. My 31" jeans practically fall down without a belt (I think I now need to buy 30" jeans). And I intentionally did not start exercising or weight lifting again because I wanted to see what would happen if I just followed the Wild Diet. And the pounds literally just melted off. I don't have a six-pack (yet) but I can start to see my abs! I don't know when I've EVER seen my abs. I can see eating like this for the rest of my life.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you must read this book. You can follow up with Abel James, the author, on his websites. He has a podcast and website called "The Fat Burning Man", and you can take his Wild 30 Challenge at "Wild30.com". I highly recommend his"Fat Burning Tribe", which includes videos, recipes, and a private facebook group that he and his wife constantly monitor and respond - how cool is that?

So if you see any recipes or video blogs on this website labeled "Wild", these are all recipes that are Wild Diet approved because of the ingredients being used.
